The early art assignment that I will always remember because it was scary and I had no idea what to do was to do a painting of the four elements; fire, air, water, and earth. But whatever it is I did seemed to please the teacher. And so remembering the difficulty at the beginning of my artistic efforts, it occurred to me to explore it now near the end of my career. Since I have been very preoccupied with the demise of Gaza, the terrible suffering and injustice of it, that became the subject of fire. As for Air, it took me quite some effort to make the clouds interesting enough. And then Water was fairly easy making thousands little drops. Earth followed very naturally.
